What this book will give you
This book is for those who already read charts, their own and others', and want to go deeper into the fifth house. I have gathered here what I said about the fifth house at the intensive and on the Ukrainian-language course: the nature of the house, how it differs from the fourth, the step of Brahma, the lord of the fifth, all the derived meanings, the planets, the Rahu–Ketu axis, the divisional charts and the cusp, using my chart as an example.
What you will get:
- three Sanskrit names of the fifth house and the word that opens it: “self”;
- how the fifth differs from the fourth and from the eleventh, what holds the fifth house up and what destroys it;
- the step of Brahma for the fifth house: the seventh, the eleventh and the third;
- the lord of the fifth: where it carries the qualities of the Sun, who the curator of the link is, analysis of placements with my examples;
- twelve reference points, each on a separate diagram;
- planets in the fifth house and the Rahu–Ketu axis;
- assessing the fifth house by three points: the Sun, the sign of Leo, the fifth house and its lord;
- the fifth house in the divisional charts using my example, and an analysis of the cusp;
- a practicum for your own chart and for consultations.
Twelve reference points
The fifth house can be seen from every house of the chart. I will go through all positions in order of counting.
Fifth from the first: fruit and future
The first house is ourselves, the body, the direction in life. The fifth from it is the future in the form of children and followers. The future a person creates with their mind, their will, their creativity. Copyright belongs here too: everything created independently.
Fourth from the second: happiness for loved ones and for money
The second house is blood relatives, money, savings. The fifth is their happiness. A mother is happy when she sees that her child is pious, studies well, has creativity. There are mothers who say: “Better you did anything at all, just not mantras, yoga and astrology.” But a normal mother is glad if her child does spiritual practice: it means he is sound, doesn't drink, has a mind.
And happiness for money. The fifth house is investment. We invest in our brains — savings grow. If we don't invest — it will be empty. Develop the fifth house to help your loved ones be happy.
Third from the third: effort with intelligence
Here effort becomes creative. Skilled hands, communication that leads to romance. A first date needs initiative. “Don't show initiative — there will be no fifth house.” The link of the third and fifth with the right initiative produces virtuosos. With a weak fifth house efforts do not turn into a creative result.
Second from the fourth: intellect feeds peace
Intellect is a resource of inner peace. In transactional analysis there is a question: “Can you change this? No. So why are you worrying?” In the fourth house sits hridaya granthi, the knot of the heart, the knot of attachments. Intellect helps untie it.
When Saturn was passing through my fourth house, during Sade Sati, it was intellect that helped me. The fifth house is the best investment; it supports the home. “A house is dead if children's laughter is not heard in it.” If there are no children, invite students, hold lessons and meditations at home.

Sixth from the twelfth: the enemy of liberation
If Leo has not awakened and the selfish one has switched on, it hinders moksha. Idleness, the wish to be entertained are enemies of self-sacrifice. When a person thinks only of the earthly, they do not think about spiritual practices.
Or children are enemies of our solitude, in a soft sense. A mother wants to be alone, meditate, do charity, and the children say: “Mum, better give the money to us.” Mum goes to her room to meditate, and the children cannot be without her for long. Personal desires, children, romance come into conflict with solitude and detachment. If the fifth house is strong, this conflict manifests as service to liberation.
Seventh from the eleventh: a counterweight to ambition
Children demand time, money, attention and balance our ambitions. Sometimes excessively ambitious people need to be given children so they don't sit on others' heads. And income: children know exactly when the salary or an advance has come. Especially children with a strong Taurus — they calculate and wait. Mum balances income with spending on the children.
Eighth from the tenth: the end and change of work
Self-education, children, romance can lead to dismissal or a change of job. People with such a link often find it hard to find work; this often comes up in consultations. A child is born — a woman goes on maternity leave or becomes a housewife. Such people often work with children: children's consultations, a kindergarten teacher.
The fifth house is also the boss's future. If a person is selfish through the fifth house — “I know how I should work” — such a person will soon become their own boss.
On the positive side the fifth house shows the viability of our career: whether there is enough pious karma, Purva punya, for a bright future at work.
Ninth from the ninth: the luck of the teacher and father
Students and followers are luck for the teacher. Children are luck for the father. The teacher asked: “Practise meditation.” The person answers: “I can't, it's hard, I can't even do one round of the maha mantra.” He gets no luck from the teacher, and the teacher is unlucky with such a student — he did not convince him.
Tenth from the eighth: the status of crisis and secret knowledge
Rational thinking shows the status of our loans, borrowings, debts: whether you know how to invest competently. Self-education shows the status of studying secret knowledge, astrology among it. If there are a few brains, the status of study grows.
The eighth house is also revelation. Secret knowledge was revealed to you, and the status of intellect grew. And prayer: “I wouldn't pray if there were no crisis.” How sincerely we repeat the mantra, how deeply we immerse in it, shows how we go through crises. Sincere prayer makes us resilient to stress.
Eleventh from the seventh: the reward of relationships
Got married — children appeared. Children are the reward, the result of relationships. Or the result of partnership and business: students and disciples came, the person became an investor. My dharma, my Purva punya, is also formed from partnership.
Twelfth from the sixth: the end of enmity
A strong mind is the loss of enemies, the end of enmity and illness. If you have a strong intellect, a strong will, a strong Leo, an inner wish to live, you defeat illnesses, debts weaken. With a strong fifth house a person simply doesn't go into debt. A woman takes a loan for a thing when she feels bad and wants “something tasty”. A strong intellect does not do this.
